How mileage and one-way charges work
The applicable base fare is charged for each one-way passenger trip. Mileage charges apply to loaded miles only, beginning when the passenger boards and ending when the passenger is delivered to the destination. A return trip is a separate one-way trip.
Waiting time
Waiting time is proposed at $20.00 for each 15-minute increment when the passenger requests the vehicle and driver to remain available during an appointment, discharge, pharmacy stop, or other authorized delay. A scheduled return pickup in which the vehicle leaves and returns is treated as a separate one-way trip rather than continuous waiting time.
Business hours and after-hours requests
Regular booking hours are 7:00 AM–5:00 PM. Online requested times are offered in 30-minute intervals. For requests outside regular hours, call or text 575-914-0284. After-hours acceptance is not guaranteed until Akwa Medical Transport confirms the request.
The business-hours statement above describes when Akwa accepts regular booking requests. Any after-hours, weekend, or holiday surcharge will be applied only as authorized by the final approved tariff.
Long-distance trips
Trips of 50 loaded miles or more may require a custom quote. Any quote will be calculated using the applicable approved base fare, loaded-mile rate, waiting time, surcharges, and other authorized charges. A custom quote does not authorize a rate outside the approved tariff.
Service limits
Akwa Medical Transport provides non-emergency transportation only. Stretcher/gurney transportation is not offered. Transportation requiring emergency ambulance care or medical monitoring/intervention beyond the permitted NEMT scope is not provided.
